Chapel Hill Equestrian (CHE) is an equestrian center that offers full service boarding for horses involved in various equestrian disciplines.
CHE is a high quality and beautifully maintained riding facility situated on 31 acres, located 1 mile north of Route 40 in Chapel Hill, and nestled adjacent to Duke Forest and the Triangle Land Conservancy.
Three Barns: One well-lighted, ventilated, and insulated barn has 18 stalls, 2 tack rooms, and 14-ft concrete center aisle. An additional shed-row barn has 10 stalls with two adjacent secure tack rooms. A 3rd center-aisle barn has 6 stalls, an 18-foot wide center aisle, and spacious climate-controlled tack room.
Stalls: Stalls are 12×12 with rubber stall mats, individual fans, grated back windows and fronts for ventilation, and automated fly spray system. Grated side walls, when present, have a privacy panel near feed tubs.
Two Arenas and a Round Pen: There is a covered lighted arena (120 x 100) with dressage mirrors; a lighted outdoor jumping arena (180 x 100); and a 60’ deluxe galvalume round pen for lunging. The footing in all three areas is rubber/sand that cushions impact.
Turn-out: There are a total of 23 variable sized turn-out lots. These lots are fenced with 4-board or cable/band (Ramm) fencing to allow safe, private to semi-private, exercise. Currently horses spend either the day or night in the turn-out lots, depending on the season.
Wash Racks/Stalls: CHE has three hot water wash facilities. Two are concrete padded racks. One is an enclosed covered stall equipped with hot water and heat lamps.
Miscellaneous: A lounge, restroom, laundry facility, kitchenette, and free Wi-Fi and Cable TV are provided. The primary caretaker(s) live on the premises and do nightly stall checks of the horses. The owners are veterinarians, licensed in North Carolina, and strive to provide a safe and healthy environment for your horse. CHE has designated areas for parking trailers.
